As a child my father beat me nearly every day.
He was faster, smarter and stronger than me so I never stood a chance. But then I grew up--got faster, smarter, stronger--and it was a lot closer.

Chess can be a brutal game. He should have let you win sometimes just to be fair.
But then I wouldn't learn how to be tough.
